Jane Lau is a distinguished music graduate of both the Royal College of Music (RCM) and University College London (UCL), bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as a music educator. With a career spanning over a decade, she has served as Head of Performing Arts and a dedicated Music Teacher at schools in the UK, teaching students aged 3 to 13.
At RCM, Jane performed for the British Harpsichord Society's 10th Anniversary in Amsterdam. She has won several competitions, including the Grieg Class at the 14th Hong Kong Competition and the Open Recital Competition at the Cheltenham Music Festival. She has conducted and performed at esteemed venues such as St Paul's Cathedral, Eton College, Steinway Hall and Windsor Castle.
Motivating and tailoring her teaching to individual learning styles for students ranging from young children to adults up to 94 years old is Jane's strong suit. Specialising in piano, violin, singing and music theory, her students consistently achieve high Distinction grades in both ABRSM and Trinity exams.
Jane has founded the New Hong Kong Orchestra (NHKO) in Hong Kong celebrating Summer Serenade series. Passionate about igniting passion in the upcoming generation, she regularly serves as a pianist and conductor for church choirs and runs music classes for children, encouraging students to explore the world through music and to discover their voices. Jane is deeply committed to all her students, dedicated in transforming the musical journeys of young musicians. With boundless enthusiasm and a warm, inviting spirit, she inspires her students to discover the world through the magic of music.
